Shortly after learning to roll over we entered the teething stage. Thankfully so far teething has been a somewhat uneventful time period. We were blessed to not even realize Grayson was getting his first tooth until it cut the gum. Of course there were little signs like him having his hands in his mouth more often and some more drooling but other than that nothing stuck out that would have made us think twice; especially since we looked at his gums quite often and there was no whitening to suggest a tooth was coming up. Then all of a sudden one day I put my finger in his mouth and wondered what he had picked up and put in there. To my surprise it wasn't a loose particle but the sharp edge of his first tooth. Within 2 weeks of the first tooth cutting the gum the one right next to it started to come through as well. This one showed its hand a little more than the first. Grayson got rosy cheeks and we could see some whitening of the tooth pushing on the gum. The only time teething seemed to bother him much at all was at night. He would wake up once a night but a few teething tablets later and he was back to dreamland. For those of you that are looking for a natural teething pain reliever I highly recommend tablets. We were given the recommendation by my sister and man do they ever work. They dissolve quickly and funny enough actual warn parents on the directions that it can cause your baby to sleep because their pain will be relieved. All I have to say is they are HEAVEN SENT and we didn't even need them as much as some parents might.
First signals that teething had started...
fingers in the mouth (even while sleeping)
and rosy cheeks
Can you see it??? My very first tooth.
Hard to see but in this picture you can kind of see the tooth to the right coming up as well.
